Terms of Service

1. Who we are

The Service is operated by Studio Mate (trading as CoupleLock), based in the Netherlands. You can reach us at support@couplelock.com.

2. The Service

CoupleLock generates personalised couple wallpapers using artificial intelligence. You upload a photo of yourself and your partner, choose a sport, team and scene, and we return a static image you can download and use as a phone wallpaper.

The generated image is a synthetic interpretation produced by an AI model. It may contain imperfections, inaccuracies or artefacts. It is not a photograph and does not depict real events.

3. Pricing and payment

• Single wallpaper: €3.99 (one image).
• All scenes bundle: €5.99 (all available scenes in your sport).
• Ultra bundle: €9.99 (all scenes across all sports).

Prices include Dutch VAT where applicable and are shown before you pay. Payments are handled by Stripe. We do not store your full card details.

4. Right of withdrawal (herroepingsrecht)

CoupleLock delivers digital content (AI-generated images) that is created and made available to you immediately after payment. In line with Article 6:230p sub d of the Dutch Civil Code and the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), you explicitly waive your 14-day right of withdrawal the moment you confirm your order and we start delivery of the digital content.

By completing your purchase you confirm that:

• you want delivery to begin immediately, before the 14-day withdrawal period has expired;
• you understand that by doing so you lose your right of withdrawal.

See section 7 for our discretionary refund policy.

5. Your content and warranties

By uploading a photo you confirm that:

• you own the photo or have permission to use it;
• every recognisable person in the photo has given explicit consent to their image being processed by an AI model to generate a new image;
• the photo does not depict minors under 16;
• the photo does not contain illegal, offensive, sexually explicit, hateful, violent or otherwise inappropriate content;
• the photo does not infringe the intellectual property, privacy or other rights of any third party.

You are solely responsible for your uploads. We may refuse to process, or refuse to deliver, any image that appears to breach these rules.

6. Intellectual property

You retain ownership of the photo you upload. Once payment is completed, you receive a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual licence to use the generated wallpaper for personal, non-commercial purposes (including sharing it on personal social media accounts).

The CoupleLock name, logo, website design, scene templates, prompts and underlying code remain our property. You may not copy, resell or redistribute the Service itself.

Team names, club crests and league trademarks shown in the app belong to their respective owners. CoupleLock is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any sports team, club or league. Generated images are fan-made interpretations for personal use only.

7. Refunds

Because you waive your right of withdrawal at checkout (see section 4), we are not legally required to refund completed orders. We do, however, operate a discretionary refund policy:

• If generation fails due to a technical issue on our side and we cannot deliver a working wallpaper, contact support@couplelock.com within 14 days and we will either regenerate the image or refund you.
• If you participate in our share-for-refund program, the specific terms displayed on the share page at the time apply. A refund is only issued after we have verified that the share requirements were met in good faith.
• Refunds for a change of mind, disappointment with the AI output, or because a recognisable person did not consent are not guaranteed and are handled on a case-by-case basis.

8. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to:

• generate images of people who have not consented, including public figures in contexts they have not agreed to;
• generate sexualised, defamatory, harassing or deceptive content;
• impersonate or misrepresent another person, or suggest endorsement by a team, athlete or brand;
• circumvent watermarks, rate limits, access controls or payment;
• reverse engineer, scrape or automate the Service, or use it to train another AI model.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if we believe you are breaching these rules.

9. Disclaimer and liability

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the generated wallpapers will meet your expectations.

To the maximum extent permitted by Dutch law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid to us for the order giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including loss of data, loss of profits or reputational harm. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory Dutch consumer law.

10. Privacy

Our processing of personal data, including the photos you upload, is described in our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new "last updated" date. The version in force when you place an order applies to that order.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands, unless mandatory consumer law designates a different court. EU consumers may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
